“ Pray Another Day ” marked Jeff Rector 's second short film as writer, director, producer and won awards for “Best Director” and “Best Music”. “ Pray Another Day ” was also a finalist in the IP: Indie Producers Awards held at the Writers Guild. Other festivals include The H2h Film Festival, The ARPA International Film Festival, The Kansas City Jubilee, and The St. Louis International Film Festival and The Valley Film Festival. Jeff wrote, directed and produced a spec commercial for KFC and recently directed the music video for the MASS Music Dome Concert on the Santa Monica Pier. Jeff has also written, directed and produced two television pilots , The 23 minute Comedy Hour a sketch comedy show, and Gorilla TV an MTV style Sit-com. Jeff has written two feature length screenplays which are in developement. Tired of Waiting is a Hollywood comedy about a group of wannabes working for a catering company who are trying to make their Hollywood dreams come true. Deadly Descent is an underwater action/adventure with a sci-fi twist about a group of friends that go on a scuba diving adventure and discover an alien spacecraft buried in the depths of a flooded cavern. Jeff's devotion to the genres of Science Fiction, Fantasy and Horror have led him to various guest starring roles on Star Trek: The Next Generation, Sliders, and a recurring character on the action/adventure series Black Scorpion on the Sci-Fi channel . Jeff's love for the cinema and the film making process began at an early age. “I used to make monster movies in the woods with my friends growing up in Bloomfield Hills , Michigan . I never really considered filmmaking as a career . It was just something fun I to do as a kid. It's kind of ironic that after years as a working actor in Hollywood , I feel like I have come full circle in returning to the Director's chair. As an active participant and Emcee for many charity events , Jeff is a long time supporter of such organizations as The Ronald McDonald House, The Muscular Dystrophy Association, The National Heart Foundation, The Special Olympics, The Frontline Foundation, The Boys and Girls Clubs of America and is a proud sponsor of the US Olympic Team. Jeff also taught an acting class at the University of Utah as well as a course for The Learning Annex in San Diego . Jeff holds memberships with the Academy of Television Arts and Sciences, The Los Angeles Film Teachers Association, IFP/West and is the official spokesman for the Academy of Science Fiction , Fantasy and Horror Films which produces the annual Saturn Awards. |
